Frequently Asked Questions

What are your office hours?
We offer flexible hours to suit the needs of our clients. Daytime, evening and some weekend hours are available.

How long is each session?
The first session typically is one hour. Subsequent sessions (individual and family) are 45-50 minutes. Group therapy sessions are 60-90 minutes.

How long will I be involved in therapy?
The length of time will vary based on the clients' goals. The duration will vary based on the types and numbers of goals, and the client's situation.

Will my information be confidential?
Yes. We follow strict federal guidelines regarding confidentiality. In order for any information to be disclosed, the client would need to provide written authorization.

What can I expect from psychotherapy?
The first session is informational, giving you and the therapist time to get to know each other and talk about your specific symptoms, along with your health and family history. By the end of the first session you will have a good understanding of your individual treatment plan and goals.

It is common for clients to feel a little nervous at first, but they quickly become more comfortable as the sessions go on. Feel free to ask the therapist any questions about the therapy and the approach to working toward a solution to your problems. As the sessions continue, you should feel a decrease in the symptoms or concerns that prompted counseling.

Is psychotherapy covered by insurance?
While each plan has its own coverage and benefit level, many insurance plans provide coverage for counseling that is medically necessary. Some plans require prior authorization from a managed care company. In those cases, we would need your permission to discuss your personal information with the insurance company in order to pursue coverage. If you prefer not to disclose this information, we have self pay options that can work for you. Please be advised that deductible, co-payment, co-insurance, and other fees that are your responsibility are due at the time of service.
